What is a Brake Service?

Brake service is somewhat of an umbrella term for all things dealing with your brakes. One of our skilled technicians will first perform a brake inspection to make sure all components are working properly. Your service technician will check your brake pads, rotors, clips, lines, fluid, master cylinder and calipers to make sure that every component is working as it should.

When should I have my brake fluid flushed?

Brake fluid, by its very nature, absorbs moisture.  This reduces the fluid’s boiling point/heat resistance.  When this happens, brake effectiveness is severely diminished.  It also can cause corrosion internally in brake components.  Most vehicle manufactures suggest/require brake fluid flushes every 2 years regardless of how far the vehicle was driven.

Why are regularly scheduled brake inspections important?

The condition of your brakes is essential for your safety. Having your braking system inspected by a professional can help to ensure all parts are working as they should. Once brakes begin to ware down, they quickly become much less effective. Taking your technician’s advice on necessary repairs is critical to your safety and the safety of others on the road.

What about performance upgrades?

Depending on how you use your vehicle, we can recommend a variety of different options to help your vehicle perform at the peak for your needs.  We sell/supply/install many various friction compounds, rotor choices, brake fluids as well as larger brake upgrades from the leading manufactures.  Ask us about what options would work best for you.

How do I know when I need my brakes serviced?

Additionally, you may need your brakes serviced if:

  • You hear grinding or squealing when driving/braking
  • Your brake pedal feels spongy
  • Your car is pulling to one side
  • Your brake warning light is illuminated
