What is Walnut Shell Blasting? Why is it Necessary?

On Today’s VW/AUDI Direct Injected engines, fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber rather than into the intake manifold.  Therefore, this leads to the accumulation of carbon deposits over time in the intake port. Previous Port Injected engines do not suffer from this carbon buildup as the fuel/air mixture coming through the intake manifold cleans the ports and valves. 

This carbon buildup can restrict airflow, disrupt fuel-air mixture, and negatively impact engine performance and emissions. 

Benefits of Walnut Shell Blasting.
